Photographic Techniques
In photographic techniques classes, students are taught the practical and theoretical aspects of analog and digital photography.
In the darkroom students learn how to develop film, make contact sheets, and enlarge negatives to make their own black and white prints. In the studio, students learn advanced studio lighting techniques including how to measure, influence, and control light using different strobe systems, cameras, and lenses. In the printer room, students are taught to make their own fine art prints using Epson printers to exhibition standards.

In the introduction to the Colour Darkroom, students learn the fundamental theoretical and practical principles of analog colour photography. Through a series of practical exercises, students gain an understanding of how it is possible to influence and control colour, as well as training their eye to judge colours more accurately.
