The Neue Schule für Fotografie (New School for Photography) is organizing an environmental photography exhibition in cooperation with Grün Berlin GmbH. We hereby invite you to submit a series, single image, or body of work to take part.

The world we live in is changing rapidly – the daily news is filled with alarming reports on the progressing climate crisis, increasing environmental pollution, the extinction of species globally and loss of biodiversity, and even the Corona pandemic appears to stem from human intervention in existing ecosystems. Those changes do not only happen far away but right in front of us. As photographers, we have the opportunity to raise public awareness on such pressing topics and to encourage change. Show us your perspective!

The exhibition call is open to all photographers no older than 27 years. You are welcome to submit single images or a series (max 10 photographs). Please send your environmental photography works along with the subject “CHANGING PLANET OPEN CALL: Name” and a short text (including title, name, year, material, size, short description of your work/s – a total of 1/2 A4 page max) to ben.chislett@neue-schule-fotografie.berlin and ines.meier@neue-schule-fotografie.berlin via Wetransfer.

The images should be formatted as follows:

• Size: 1200pixels long side
• Resolution: 72dpi
• File format: jpg
• Title: Your name, surname and series order in the file name as well as the original pixel size (for example: 01DonaldDuck4579x3400.jpg, 02DonaldDuck4500x3200.jpg, 03DonaldDuck2400x5296.jpg, 04DonaldDuck600x400.jpg).

The deadline for submissions is January 20.

The best works will be selected by a team at the Neue Schule für Fotografie and Grün Berlin. The exhibition is scheduled at the Pyramide Exhibition Centre to run from February 26 to April 22. Please note that these dates may change due to Covid-19 regulations.

By participating in the exhibition you agree that your submitted images can be used indefinitely for Neue Schule für Fotografie social media, website, and promotion thereof, and for them to be used by Grün Berlin and exhibition center Pyramide for the purpose of advertising the exhibition and our co-operation.

Co-Exhibitors and Future Exhibitions

In combination with your work we will present selected photographs of the Internationales Jugendfotofestival (international youth photo festival) initiated by Grün Berlin last year. Works by Native Foundation and ORA-network will also be exhibited. The exhibition will be developed as a touring exhibition.
